This GE52E 50’ covered gondola was built for Erie Lackawanna and later obtained in the 1976 creation of Conrail, when it was repainted and fitted with a coil steel cover. Erie Lackawanna was formed through the 1960 merger of the Erie Railroad, and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. It was rolled into Conrail in 1976, and most rolling stock was repainted and re-stenciled into the Conrail paint scheme.
