05500590 N 33' Twin Bay Hopper with Offset Sides and Coal Load Southern

This 33' twin bay hopper with offset sides is black with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in October 1948 for Southern Railway, hopper was an AC&F standard design and rode on friction bearing trucks. Southern Railway was a Class 1 railroad until 1982 when it merged with Norfolk & Western to form Norfolk Southern.
