02400181 N Pennsylvania Boxcar
This 40’ standard box car with single door and no roofwalk is freight car red with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in May 1950 for Pennsylvania, cars belonged to class X43B and featured Superior doors. Rebuilt in the late 1960s it continued in service through the 1970s before being replaced by larger capacity 50’ cars. Pennsylvania was a large Class 1 railroad formed in 1846 and grew to be a predominant shipper on the east coast until 1968 when it merged with rival New York Central to form Penn Central.
